A summer destination wedding in the heart of Umbria



Borgo San Faustino lies in the countryside of Orvieto, in Umbria, among rolling hills and woods just a short drive from the Tuscan border. Rebecca and Robert, a couple from Sweden, chose this historic borgo for a June destination wedding with their family and friends, who travelled to Italy to celebrate with them on a warm summer day.

The day began with the preparations inside the borgo: the bride getting ready with her closest friends, the groom and his groomsmen among stone walls and views over the Umbrian countryside. The outdoor ceremony took place in the shade of the old trees, with white chairs lined up on the gravel courtyard. Rebecca walked down the aisle on her father's arm, among the emotion of the guests, and the couple exchanged their vows and rings surrounded by the people they love.

After the ceremony and a shower of petals, the celebration continued with hugs, group photos under the big tree and an Italian aperitivo with local cured meats and cheeses. At sunset we took some time for couple portraits in the golden light, before dinner in the courtyard under string lights, with heartfelt speeches, the cake cutting and a first dance that opened a long night of music, saxophone and sparklers.

This wedding photo reportage avoided any form of staging. Even with many guests and a full schedule, I followed the day discreetly, allowing the story to unfold spontaneously. The result is a series of images that prioritize authenticity, emotion and warm, cinematic light, from the quiet moments of the preparations to the energy of the party late into the night.
