Fiona and Simon chose one of the most spectacular venues in northern Italy for their intimate destination wedding on Lake Garda: Isola del Garda, a private island dominated by a Venetian neo-Gothic villa, lush gardens and panoramic terraces directly over the water.
With only 24 guests, their day was designed to feel exclusive, personal and deeply emotional.
Their outdoor ceremony took place in the gardens of the villa, surrounded by exotic plants, cypress trees and the shimmering reflections of the lake. Under the elegant lines of the historic residence and with uninterrupted views across Lake Garda, Fiona and Simon exchanged their vows in a setting that felt straight out of a movie. The sound of the water, the light breeze and the quiet of the island created an atmosphere that was both romantic and incredibly peaceful.
After the ceremony, we stayed on the island for the wedding photo reportage. We moved between terraces, stone staircases and manicured Italian-style gardens that slope down towards the lake, using the architectural details of the villa and the deep blue of the water as our backdrop.
With such a small group, Fiona and Simon had the freedom to take their time, enjoy each other and let moments unfold naturally while I captured their story in a documentary, fine-art style.
As the sun began to set, the wedding party left Isola del Garda by private boat, returning to the mainland for a cosy lakeside dinner at a restaurant along the shore. Here, the atmosphere shifted from the grandeur of the island to something more relaxed and intimate: a single table, warm conversations, toasts and laughter reflected in the evening light over the lake.
This intimate destination wedding on Isola del Garda is a perfect example of how a small celebration can still feel incredibly luxurious and unforgettable: a private island, a handful of guests, and a love story framed by one of Italy’s most extraordinary wedding locations.
